New York’s airports are slowing down the aviation system all over the country
Aviation experts say New York’s airports are slowing down the aviation system all over the country. If you’re flying into or out of one of New York’s three major airports, you have a good chance of being late, a really good chance. In the first quarter of this year, nearly four in ten flights out of Newark, La Guardia or JFK were cancelled or late, an average of an hour late at La Guardia, an hour thirty-five minutes at Newark, and late out of New York often means late elsewhere because there are so many flights here. A high-level task force has been assembled to recommend ways of fixing the problem. It won’t be easy. Runways are already at capacity, and there’s not much room for new ones. - Quote AP News
